Moab!

The Canyonlands Half Marathon was a great time even though I didn't get the time I wanted. I finished in 2.04:46, the longest 2 hours of my life! I was number 1467 of 3284 people who finished the race. And as predicted, Brookney kicked my butt in her first half marathon. It was a beautiful course along the Colorado River and was a good 70 degrees outside. I was definitely not used to the heat!

The day after the race, instead of relaxing, we went on a pretty rough mountain bike trail on the famous slick rock. It was nothing like any trail in Idaho.

The boys aren't in any of the photos because they were serious about their biking, while Brookney and I took our time and had a nice ride out of it. They waited for us at the top and we all went for a short hike to check out the view before coming back down.

Next was the site seeing. These are petroglyphs near the Delicate Arch.

The Delicate Arch was about a mile and a half hike, that was well worth the effort.

Jackson Terry Taylor

Jackson is the newest addition to the Taylor family. He was born March 10th, 2009 and weighed 6lbs 7oz. With the big dog and 2 year old in the background, I'm sure it will be busy around their house!

We're Engaged!

Yes, we are finally engaged! It's so exciting. The date was December 30th. We had waited until then to open our presents because we had both been working all week. There was a little present on the mantle from Santa. The ring is gorgeous! I would post a picture of it, but a picture doesn't do it justice.

We ended the day with a little champagne that Deb bought us for Christmas! No, we don't have a date yet. We keep telling people, "One step at a time!"

Christmas Run 2008

Saturday, Brookney and I ran in the YMCA Christmas 10K in Boise! It was 20 degrees, but by the end of the run the sun came out. Funny how some people spend the holidays! We weren't alone though. About 800 people participated this year, which was a new record. I think we have a new holiday tradition.

Congrats Brookney on your first official 10K race! She could have kicked my butt if she hadn't stayed with me the whole race. We even had pretty good times.

Christmas Tree Hunting

Sunday, Danny and I drove out to Knox Canyon to cut down our Christmas Tree! I took this opportunity to get our Christmas photo too. It only took 4 takes to get a good picture this year, which is a new record for us!

Bogey is not one to follow directions. But he had a good time.

The Melting Pot

I visited Boise this last week and my last day in town I had a wonderful dinner with Brookney and Adam. After a long month without my camera, I finally bought a new one, just in time to find out it wasn't stolen after all! I am apparently just very absent minded and put it in the glove box of my car. I think I may be losing my mind. Whatever the circumstances, I am just glad to have a camera again. It was a long month!

Someone should show Adam how to use a camera!

How Danny decorates for Halloween

I had just bought this bag of miniture pumpkins to put around the house for Halloween and Danny decided that he was better at decorating than me.

1. I hate brownies. I'm not such a fan of chocolate in general, but brownies are especially dense.

2. All the clothes in my closet must be facing the same direction.

3. I am obsessive about taking pictures.

4. I love to go to the dentist.

5. I cry during happy scenes in movies and while watching the Olympics.

6. I don't put milk on my cereal.

I know, I'm weird.

We Did It!

Deb and I ran the 10K at the Pocatello Marathon today! There were a few bumps along the way, but we made it to the end. Congrats Deb on your first 10K! We have a lot more races planned for later in the year, so there will be more pictures like this to post!

More Pics from McCall

2nd Annual Camping Trip in McCall

The first night we were in McCall, it was just the two of us so we took a mountain bike ride up to the overlook at the top of the park. This is why we look a little sweaty! It wasn't an easy trail by any means!

Mom, Dad and Kelsy all came to camp with us.

Saturday was the nicest day with lots of sunshine. We spent the whole day on the boat with Brookney and Adam relaxing and wakeboarding.

This is definitely going to be an annual trip!

Bloomington Lake

Bloomington Lake is a favorite spot of ours. We have been going there every summer since we started dating in 2004. This time we decided to climb to the top of the cliffs. It was harder than I thought but we made it and so did Brody. He loves to do anything outdoors, but he was pretty tired by the time we made it back down. It was such a wonderful view from the top, and of course I had my camera.

This is my favorite picture from the top. The lake was so beautiful from up there!

We were somewhere up on the top ridge on the left of the picture! You can't really tell from the photos, but we were really high up there. When sharing our story, we were asked, "Did you cliff jump from there?" Apparently no one realized exactly how high we were because the answer was, "Only if we wanted to die!" We had just returned from a vacation in LA, but nothing beats a camping trip to Bloomington.
