Six Sweaty Chicks

Yesterday was Sawtooth Relay! It started at Stanley Elementary School. The night before we went up to check out the starting line since it would be dark the next morning when we started.

The Sawtooth Mountains.

I looked pretty awesome in my required safety gear at 4:30 Saturday morning!

It was just a little chilly that morning, probably not more than 40 degrees when we started.

This is Rachel modeling our team uniform.

Beautiful exchange number 2 between Deb and Rachel.

Rachel and Camille.

Miriam modeling the pegged pants look.

Linda getting psyched to run Galena Summit. She climbed 1300 ft in elevation over 5 miles! Not only did she not stop once (like most of the runners) she was passing people left and right! She is an animal!

This is the beautiful view right before the summit.

While Linda did her thing, her teammates took advantage of the photo op. It was beautiful!

I know I look like I'm about to cry (which I didn't!) but they would have been tears of JOY! I was the first one done for the day. That was the only advantage of running my first leg at 4:30 in the morning and running leg number 7 (1400 ft. loss in elevation). I was exhausted! Sharing a hotel room with 5 other women is not a good idea if anyone actually wants to get some sleep! But it sure was fun.

This is when Deb got finished with her second leg. Can't you just feel her excitement?
Camille waiting patiently to run leg 10.

The final exchange! We are almost done!

Enjoying the after-party in Ketchum. We finished in 9 hours 51 minutes!

Heart and Sole 10K

Today was the Heart and Sole 10K in Pocatello. If it were possible for a loop course to be ALL uphill, this would be it! Even though it was the hardest 10K I've run in recent memory, I was actually pretty proud of myself. It's fun to do something challenging and feel the accomplishment of completing it. As a night shift worker, these 8 am race starts are rough. 7am comes pretty quickly when I am used to sleeping until at least 11 am!
