Organized Sports

Oh the first soccer game... Better believe Ellie was the instigator of holding hands and going in a circle around the ball. Good team bonding activity!

She looks ready for action.

Benson squishing Abby.

Unfortunately for picture taking, the tiny fields are on the very end next to the attractive fences. I guess they are really entertaining though.

Which way is our team going?
Fascination with the net leads to getting stuck in the net and needing to be rescued.

Taking a breather.

She was all smiles the whole time. She twirled a lot too.
There was a lot of hand holding. She really likes her coach, Whitney.
Again with the net. Even though she was less than focused on the task, she had a great time.

Soccer Practice

This week, soccer went much better. She was paying attention, mostly doing what her coach said, and having a great time.
Look at that form!
Benson and his buddy, Blaze helped out by gathering all the coach's cones.
Still playing with the cones. I'll have much better pictures at their first game this weekend.

Here We Go

Ellie had her first soccer practice tonight. Her coach is great with little kids. Ellie turned out to be the crier of the group tonight. Last week it was another little girl and next week I'm sure will be someone else. She didn't carry her ball around this time, her problem was that she didn't want to play with someone else's soccer ball. So they played with hers. That was the next problem: everyone was playing with her ball! We'll have to work on that.

At the end, they discussed a team name to go with their green uniforms. The top competitors were The Dragons, The Snakes, and The Dinosaurs. On the ride home, Ellie was still pretty concerned about playing with different soccer balls, until the conversation changed to the team name. She is set on The Fairies, which was a name not brought up at practice of course. Once we got her set on The Dragons, she was very disappointed when we got home and her uniform wasn't a dragon costume. Good news is, she likes her uniform anyway and looks pretty cute in it too!
This soccer stuff is just so confusing!

For Grandma

Swimming

She calls it swimming, I call it cleaning out those dirty ears.
