Bear Lake Camping 2020

We headed to Bear Lake on Ellie’s birthday. The beach was pretty busy and our spot turned out to be pretty rocky so the kids didn’t get much use out of their new shovels. But they sure are crazy.
We found that a log had fallen off the top of the barn in the last two months since Miriam and fam had stayed here. It’s sad to see that the barn may not make it forever, but it’s still holding up pretty well. It would be fun to find out exactly how old this barn is. I don’t think we’ll be letting the kids play in there anymore though. I bet that is one heavy log that came crashing down!
Our new hammock was once again a favorite. Ellie and Abby sat in it for hours doing math. Yep, math on vacation! Even Ryan and Tate joined in the math lessons for a while.

Turns out Dave takes a chainsaw everywhere he goes! He made quick work out of that old log.

Ellie and Aunt Stacy lounging on the boat.
Benson didn’t really want to swim this time. He did hang onto the ladder a lot to get wet.
Ellie couldn’t get enough of the water though!
How many people does it take to start a campfire?
Ellie gets a little silly after a day on the boat!
Bensons favorite part of the whole trip.

Wild Sunday

While trying to have a party, this was happening on the hill just behind us. But the show must go on! The wind was blowing northeast, so it stayed away from the neighborhood and we didn’t even really smell any smoke during the party.
I am 8 years old and love to read fantasy novels far above my grade level.i take a notebook everywhere so I can write stories, draw and do math. I’m still interested in dragons and always involve them in my stories. This spring I taught myself cursive because I missed out on it with school out. I’m silly and funny and call Daddy “Dids.”

I am 6 years old and love to play outside even if I’m by myself. I love to ride my bike again too. I am much more agreeable and less firstly, as my parents would say. I have a big vocabulary and am reading Bob books well. My favorite trees are “forever greens,” I always end up with my shirt on backwards, and my best friends are Blaise and Yusef. I am a clever and funny boy.

Chewbacca wasn’t my best work, but Benson still knew who I was going for. Benson loves chocolate and ate his white chocolate kit cat ammo belt first thing. We had fake blowing out the candle pics because the wind was not cooperating!

Just kept going and going.

Ellie’s fake blowing out the candle pic. Her dragon turned out pretty well, complete with fruit roll up wings and candy fire breathing.

Our house is circled.
It looked like it was pretty much out by sunset, but this picture shows a little different story.
