First Babysitters

Today was Danny and my second anniversary, so we decided it was the perfect time to have our first night out by ourselves. Miah and Abby have been asking all month when they would get to babysit. So Ellie dressed in her "My Auntie Rocks" shirt that Stacy bought her and got to play with the girls for 2 whole hours while we ate prime rib at the Sandpiper. It sounds like she was a pretty good little girl for the evening too. She couldn't have been too bad, the girls said they wanted to babysit their newest cousin again soon.

One Month

I am one month old today! I weigh 8 lbs 6 oz. I can still wear the newborn outfit I wore home from the hospital, but it is definitely more snug. My cheeks, arms and legs are getting a little chubby, but I still don't have much of a bum. My neck is getting stronger and I've just figured out how to get a good grip on the shirt of whoever is holding me. I make tears now so my crying is much more sad and convincing. The other day I was so hungry I sucked on my forearm while being burped (wasn't done eating yet) and gave myself a big hicky!  I want to be held all of the time, you can only put me down at night! My favorite part of the day is morning when I get lots of snuggle time with Dad while he drinks his coffee and watches tv. My favorite nicknames are babydoo or babygoo, and Ellie Beans (both from Dad).

Bath Time



 This was her first REAL bath (after her cord fell off and a couple weeks of sponge baths until then). It was like she knew what was coming. She actually did really well, I think she liked the noise of the running water. 

 Her bath chair might still be a little big, she kept sliding down as she wiggled. Look at that cute little belly button she has now! So glad that cord is gone. We bathed her right before feeding time because we knew she'd already be mad. She looks a little hungry.

Growing Baby

At two weeks old, she weighs 6 lbs 13 oz. Danny and I bet on her weight, I won with a guess of 6-14 (Danny was optimistic with 7-2). Too bad we didn't bet anything good, I never win when we do that!  Dr. McInturff says she's a very healthy baby. That's what we like to hear! For everyone who might not need daily Ellie updates, sorry, but Grandma does! Sorry for the baby overload.

Green Jumpsuit

 Doesn't seem like I have too many pictures with her eyes open. Turns out babies sleep a lot.

 Everyday she looks like she is getting bigger... until Dad holds her. She still looks pretty tiny in his arms!
