Highlights from Washington DC

We took so many picture on our week long vacation to Washington DC, that I am a little intimidated when I think about scrapbooking the trip. Here are a few of my favorites.

The White House in the rain.

World War II memorial.

We got ripped off that the reflecting pool was being drained, I assume for cleaning, the week we were there!

The Lincoln Memorial was one of our favorites. It was very impressive, can't you tell by the look on Danny's face?

The Vietnam Memorial was also very cool.

Next was Arlington Cemetary and it was a beautiful day.

You can't get anywhere near the steps of the Capitol Building, the armed gaurds will make sure of that.
Mount Vernon was beautiful! I wouldn't mind builing a mansion on that spot of land overlooking the Potomac River.

After we figured out the subway system, we found out it was pretty easy and a lot cheaper than the cabs! Danny really has the tourist look down, doesn't he?! I have so many more pictures. Maybe I'll get around to posting more. Maybe later.

Endurance Festival Fun

More Fun Runs. May 15th, 2010.
This time it was a 10K and I didn't think I was quite ready for it and I was right! But we actually didn't do too bad. As for Deb...She killed everyone! Good job Deb, you are awesome!

Can you tell she is proud of the medal she won (the socks)?
The whole Meyer family ran again. They just can't quit running!

Race For the Cure

Today was Race For the Cure. Brookney and I joined more than 15,000 people in a 5K fun run this morning! It was a pretty nice day, but it could have been a little warmer. We love Fun Runs and it's better than sleeping in on a Saturday morning. oh, and a side note: I locked my keys in my car. Its a good thing Dad had a spare key. I'm sure there was nothing he would rather be doing on a Saturday! Thanks Dad!

We found a Lake House!

So we finally found a house to get married at! And we finally have a date! (We think :)
August 28th, 2010

It is on the East side of Payette Lake in McCall, and it is gorgeous!
We want to have the ceremony down here by the water, by the private dock!
The house is beautiful!

Spring Scrubs

I've been making scrub tops for a while now, but I was very excited about the most recent one and the awesome green pants I found that matched perfectly. They are perfect for spring!

Happy Birthday Tate!

These are some pictures taken at Tate's Birthday party. The photographer was his cousin, Miah, who is also three years old! She just might have found her future career. These are just a couple of the over 80 photos that she took. Thank goodness for digital cameras!
Tate loved his new cowboy hat and gun from Uncle Rob and Aunt Stacy.

This is the photographer. She decided that there needed to be some pictures of her too.
Grandma having fun. I love the view point from someone 3 feet tall.

Birthday boy's daddy

Crazy Uncle Rob

Crazy Uncle Danny

Sweet little Abby. She did not want her picture taken that day. Miah was so excited that she caught her sister on camera.

So hard to get a picture of Danny without a funny face.

Finally Miah took a break from the camera to play.

I like to play too.
Dad lighting the candles. Tate sang Happy Birthday to himself louder than anyone else!

Tate didn't even want to taste the cake his dad made, playing with trucks takes priority.

My Second Attempt at Snowboarding

The day begins on the ski lift. Nice slow ride, beautiful day.
(Danny looks annoyed, but its all an act. He loves looking at pictures!)

Then the first fall of the day... attempting to dismount the ski lift. By using the word "dismount" it sounds more technical than it really is. But I still have not mastered this skill, so apparently to me, it is pretty technical.
So realizing that this is only the second time that I have been snowboarding (having also never learned to ski), this was a pretty successful day. I spent a lot more time on my feet than the trip before where I was sure I bruised my tailbone pretty bad. After looking at photos of Danny and I, I started wondering... Do all beginners keep their arms in the air for balance too, or am I just a dork? I have also observed that this is a sport that is easier to learn as a child. Some of those 4 year olds on skis beat me down the mountain!
This is my very patient snowboarding instructor. Ignore him pointing to his imaginary watch, insinuating that it was taking too long to get down the mountain, or maybe that I was taking too long of a break, because he was very patient. Having never taught anyone to snowboard, I think he did a great job.
I did spend a fair amount of time on my butt too.

I was very impressed that I finally figured out how to zig zag down the mountain. I guess I have only figured out how to zig, not yet how to zag. Getting from your back edge to your front edge is pretty tricky for me, and a little scary too.

Danny got to do a few runs other than the bunny hill that day, so hopefully he had fun too!

Last year Danny told me, "You have to go more than once because you will hate your first try." He was right, I really did hate my first try. This year was much better. It's a lot more fun when you stay on your feet for more than 5 seconds at a time!

Christmas 10K Boise

Saturday December 19th, Brookney and I ran a 10K in Boise. It was a lot warmer than last year and there wasn't any snow! It would have been a pretty good race if there hadn't been a mile and a half long hill in the middle of it!
We were pretty proud of our cute tights! Of course we had cold weather tights under them!

ISU Santa Claws 5K Fun Run

We woke up the morning of December 5th to SNOW! And it continued snowing the whole 3 miles! We look full of energy in this pre-race photo. No after-race photos were taken! This was Hillary's first 5K and she did awesome!
The Meyer's make a family activity out of community races. I don't think I will ever get Danny to think its a good idea!

Christmas Tree Hunting

We cut down our Christmas tree in Knox Canyon again this year. It's a fun day for everyone, including the dogs! Danny tries to look tough, but the baby face fails him every time!

Brody looks confused every time we want him to pose for a picture!

Bogey likes to oversee the operation.

Its always a little tricky getting the tree secured to the top of the tahoe, but Danny always makes it work.
