Awards and Songs

Livvy and Ellie were the only two in either 1st grade class to complete their 100 book reports this year! They got a treat and movie passes, and get to have a special lunch with their teacher on the last day of school.
They had a talent show in the afternoon and Ellie's class sang "Lets go fly a kite."

Ellie decorated her kite with Star Wars characters!

Rockets

The last few days of school are always hectic and today the whole school walked to ISU and launched rockets they made. Each grade progressively used better techniques and the rockets got higher and higher. Ellie’s class had to use their own bodies to get their rockets in the air. They had tightly wrapped rockets on one end of a straw and their lung power on the other end.

Livvy joined in on new library book day in the front yard.

Benson's Preschool Program

Chalice, Jillian, Orlando, Huxten, Addilyn, Maycie, Gracie, Remmington, Blaise, River, Mabel, Benson

I'm a Lonely Little Petunia "Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo."

They embroidered the world on a pillow and had a song that went with it.

Benson played a hunter in Peter and the Wolf.
It was very cute. Benson sang every song at home, but wasn't into performing infant a crowd. He did like the gun the hunter had though. Not surprising.

New Library Book Day

I take Benson to the library once a week for story time and while he’s in class, I pick up a bunch of new books. As soon as Ellie gets home from school and realizes we went to the library, she grabs my big orange book bag and READS. When I took this picture she had been sitting in the same spot for 2 hours without saying a word to anyone. I cannot keep enough books in the house. Thank goodness for libraries! Luckily she’s more than happy to read the same book over and over in the week before I get more. She just finished a 115 page book about Tinkerbell that I just got today, among others. She’s amazing. She kept going and read all the way till dinner time. 3 hours!

Mother’s Day

This boy can be pretty stubborn, but I love how they are holding hands!

Happy Mother's Day!

Shoshone Falls

We met Aleshia and two of her kids at the falls on our way to Boise. We thought they were pretty impressive, until I saw how huge they were just one week before this!

Walk-a-thon

Ellie completed 14 laps this year at the Walk-a-thon! That is 3.5 Miles and a big improvement from the 11 she did last year. Since she did more laps, she convinced Daddy to give her $1 per lap instead of the $10 she got last year. She walked a lap then ran a lap with Mommy for the whole 50 minutes. Awesome job, Ellie!

Piano Recital

Ellie has been taking piano lessons since October after about a year of asking. She was pleasantly surprised when her teacher mentioned a recital a few weeks ago. Getting ready, he has been telling her what to expect, trying to ease her mind. He said there would only be a few people there, he has 11 students and their parents would be watching. He also mentioned that her performance would be in a small room with the piano level with the audience. He thought he was making her less nervous, but Ellie wanted a stage! I don’t know whose child she is! Anyway, we get to the Fine Arts building on ISU campus and he says there’s been a change in venue. She got to play in an auditorium with a big stage and she was thrilled! Look at the size of that piano!

She was the first to play, being his youngest student, and played her two pieces she had memorized perfectly. After getting off stage, she skipped back to her chair. We celebrated with cookies and she insists on going through the summer instead of starting lessons back up in the fall.

Giraffe

It must be spring! Dirt and bruises all over Benson’s pale legs!
