16 Months

Books are more interesting than Mommy.

Ellie is more interesting than Mommy.

Looking out the window is more interesting than Mommy.

Too bad this kid can get off the little chair by himself! I'm never going to get any pictures now.

I am 16 months old and so much fun! I try and try to jump but never leave the ground. I stomp and go in circles to dance. I love to play feed mommy and daddy. I am more cuddly, give leg hugs, and even smooch people now. I have a fascination for opening and closing doors. I also copy Ellie with noises and movements. I have lots of new words like Beep, Beep, What's that?, Thank you, and Hi. I am getting tooth number 9, my first molar. I'm still a great sleeper, 12-13 hrs at night, but usually only one nap a day works out. My newest nickname is Bud.

This was the day of the silly faces, apparently.

Benson is bored.

Late Morning

9 am and this boy is still in bed! Ellie had been up for 2.5 hrs and had already gotten dressed and finished breakfast!

I decided it was time to wake him up.

Poor boy has been sick so Ellie let him use Ocar the humidifier owl for a few days. Benson likes him too.

Benson's First Haircut

Benson got his first haircut! With the encouragement of "Brookie," and her clippers, we attempted to clean up this shaggy boy. We didn't do too much, mostly just shortened the sides and back. Daddy really didn't like the long hair hanging over his ears. We also trimmed the random wispy long hairs on top. That was my biggest complaint.

As soon as he got the granola bar, he didn't mind sitting there at all.

Although he looks pretty cooperative, it's still pretty difficult to cut a toddler's hair when he won't keep his head still, especially for someone who's never done it before!

Having had a few haircuts in his life, Daddy knew all about the details.

With that cowlick, his hair will always sweep to the side like that. It's much easier to deal with than Ellie's crazy cowlicks though! I think we did a pretty good job for a first try. Nothing could make this boy look any less cute. Not even an amateur haircut!
