Dance Recital

Ellie's two favorite parts of dance are the performance, and the medal! Tonight was a good night for her!

Fishing

Fish and Game had a free fishing night at Edson Fichter Pond tonight. They provided fishing poles and bait, and waived the license requirement for adults during the event. We didn’t catch anything, of course, but I think Ellie enjoyed herself. Fishing is a little slow for Benson though. We really were hoping to catch a fish their first time out to keep them interested, but no luck.

 Ellie did make a couple duck friends though. They looked pretty tame, probably hoping we would feed them.

Birthday at Bear Lake

Our first trip this year was pretty late, luckily the lawn mower could still handle it!

 Our pet ducks were still a hit.

 There were lots of dandelions and a couple broken tree limbs to clean up.

 

I love how thunderstorms look at the lake. They really bring out the color of the water.

 No filter needed. 

 A water gun in one hand, a duck in the other. And a life jacket that's getting too little for this big kid.

 She swims just like a duck.

 The wind picked up and the storm got closer, and we got out of there!

At Home

 Ellie's astronaut is exploring a planet where unicorns live.

My pretty peonies. Too bad they only last a week or two.

Library

 The Summer Reading Kickoff Party at the library included our favorite characters! They even got a signed Star Wars book signed by Boba Fett to keep! Benson was really checking out R2D2, trying to figure out how he worked.

Field Day

The last day of school was lots of fun! First Ellie and Livvy had lunch with Mrs. Cordingley. They had pizza and cinnamon sticks. Then all afternoon was field day and the weather held out. This is Ellie picking up marbles with her toes!

Ellie and Livvy in the reverse dunk tank. Luckily they had just changed the water before these two. No gross recycled foot water on their heads!

Benson got to meet Benny the Bengal!

It will be sad that these two won't go to school together next year. They sure have a lot of fun together. 

Looks like Blaise thinks Benson is a weirdo!
