100 Book Reports!

Ellie finished her last three book reports tonight! She’s probably read five times that many books, but the reports weren’t as easy to get done! She’s done a month earlier than she needed to be though. Such a smart, motivated girl.

Haircut

When you have a melt down in the middle of a haircut, you get it buzzed! In a much better mood today, he thought he was pretty funny putting on Ellie’s shoes.

Pin #9

It was busier than we’ve seen Home Depot in a while. But we have two new birdhouses for Spring!

Spring Hike

Check out that view from Wiggle Worm Trail.

Don't worry, we brought water packs!
There were a lot of breaks...

Lots of mud and even some snow.

Field Trip

We went to Franklin Middle School to listen to their band practice. They are pretty good and even let the kids touch some of the instruments.

Beach Day!

Our last day in California, we went to Huntington Beach.

I should have known we needed swim suits right off the bat.
Under the pier was pretty cool.
There were so many sea shells to collect!

Burying yourself in the sand only appeals to kids, I guess.

Second Day at Disneyland

Ellie was tired of waiting in lines by day three! And she can draw anywhere!

This is one of my favorites from the whole trip! They were trying so hard to get the sword out of the stone!

We revisited some of our favorites, and that included Star Tours and the Matterhorn. Benson in a trance listening to the instructions before we went on our mission. After this ride was over, Benson kept asking if we were back in Disneyland and not the land of the wookies! It was so confusing.
We also got to meet Boba Fett, who had just walked away when we were there the first day.
One of my favorites was the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but neither kid liked it much! Too fast! We also really liked Pirates of the Caribbean. Benson had to keep repeating to himself that the pirates were fake and that Daddy would unplug them if they got too close. Ellie really wanted to go into the Haunted Mansion and was pretty proud of herself for being brave. Some of the characters we saw around the park but didn't meet were Goofy, Donald Duck, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and the Prince, Peter Pan, and Mary Poppins. Again, in bed by 8!

California Adventure Park

Too many good pictures on day two to put in order! After getting our fast passes for Radiator Springs Racers, our first ride was Goofy's Sky School.

On the Golden Zephyr.

Radiator Springs

Ellie found these huge leaves and would not part with them.

The Pixar Pal-A-Round is no ordinary Ferris Wheel! Each car swings back and forth on a rail whenever the ferris wheel stops turning.

The wait to see Anna and Elsa was our longest of the whole trip. About an hour.

 But the kids loved it!

Benson was so done with pictures that he couldn't even fake a smile for me!

Radiator Springs really lights up when the sun goes down.

We took a quick class from a real Disney animator. Ellie was really into it, but was upset when her drawing wasn't perfect like the instructor!

Finally after getting the fast pass, then waiting while to ride was temporarily down during our time to ride, we rode the Radiator Springs Racers! It was one of the best rides we went on, but of course, felt really short for all that waiting!
We were standing in line to meet Mater the Tow Truck, when he drove away for a break and Lightening showed up!

We were in bed by 8:00 again! Vacation is exhausting!
