Six Sweaty Chicks

Yesterday was Sawtooth Relay! It started at Stanley Elementary School. The night before we went up to check out the starting line since it would be dark the next morning when we started.

The Sawtooth Mountains.

I looked pretty awesome in my required safety gear at 4:30 Saturday morning!

It was just a little chilly that morning, probably not more than 40 degrees when we started.

This is Rachel modeling our team uniform.

Beautiful exchange number 2 between Deb and Rachel.

Rachel and Camille.

Miriam modeling the pegged pants look.

Linda getting psyched to run Galena Summit. She climbed 1300 ft in elevation over 5 miles! Not only did she not stop once (like most of the runners) she was passing people left and right! She is an animal!

This is the beautiful view right before the summit.

While Linda did her thing, her teammates took advantage of the photo op. It was beautiful!

I know I look like I'm about to cry (which I didn't!) but they would have been tears of JOY! I was the first one done for the day. That was the only advantage of running my first leg at 4:30 in the morning and running leg number 7 (1400 ft. loss in elevation). I was exhausted! Sharing a hotel room with 5 other women is not a good idea if anyone actually wants to get some sleep! But it sure was fun.

This is when Deb got finished with her second leg. Can't you just feel her excitement?
Camille waiting patiently to run leg 10.

The final exchange! We are almost done!

Enjoying the after-party in Ketchum. We finished in 9 hours 51 minutes!

Heart and Sole 10K

Today was the Heart and Sole 10K in Pocatello. If it were possible for a loop course to be ALL uphill, this would be it! Even though it was the hardest 10K I've run in recent memory, I was actually pretty proud of myself. It's fun to do something challenging and feel the accomplishment of completing it. As a night shift worker, these 8 am race starts are rough. 7am comes pretty quickly when I am used to sleeping until at least 11 am!

Highlights from Washington DC

We took so many picture on our week long vacation to Washington DC, that I am a little intimidated when I think about scrapbooking the trip. Here are a few of my favorites.

The White House in the rain.

World War II memorial.

We got ripped off that the reflecting pool was being drained, I assume for cleaning, the week we were there!

The Lincoln Memorial was one of our favorites. It was very impressive, can't you tell by the look on Danny's face?

The Vietnam Memorial was also very cool.

Next was Arlington Cemetary and it was a beautiful day.

You can't get anywhere near the steps of the Capitol Building, the armed gaurds will make sure of that.
Mount Vernon was beautiful! I wouldn't mind builing a mansion on that spot of land overlooking the Potomac River.

After we figured out the subway system, we found out it was pretty easy and a lot cheaper than the cabs! Danny really has the tourist look down, doesn't he?! I have so many more pictures. Maybe I'll get around to posting more. Maybe later.

Endurance Festival Fun

More Fun Runs. May 15th, 2010.
This time it was a 10K and I didn't think I was quite ready for it and I was right! But we actually didn't do too bad. As for Deb...She killed everyone! Good job Deb, you are awesome!

Can you tell she is proud of the medal she won (the socks)?
The whole Meyer family ran again. They just can't quit running!

Race For the Cure

Today was Race For the Cure. Brookney and I joined more than 15,000 people in a 5K fun run this morning! It was a pretty nice day, but it could have been a little warmer. We love Fun Runs and it's better than sleeping in on a Saturday morning. oh, and a side note: I locked my keys in my car. Its a good thing Dad had a spare key. I'm sure there was nothing he would rather be doing on a Saturday! Thanks Dad!

We found a Lake House!

So we finally found a house to get married at! And we finally have a date! (We think :)
August 28th, 2010

It is on the East side of Payette Lake in McCall, and it is gorgeous!
We want to have the ceremony down here by the water, by the private dock!
The house is beautiful!

Spring Scrubs

I've been making scrub tops for a while now, but I was very excited about the most recent one and the awesome green pants I found that matched perfectly. They are perfect for spring!

Happy Birthday Tate!

These are some pictures taken at Tate's Birthday party. The photographer was his cousin, Miah, who is also three years old! She just might have found her future career. These are just a couple of the over 80 photos that she took. Thank goodness for digital cameras!
Tate loved his new cowboy hat and gun from Uncle Rob and Aunt Stacy.

This is the photographer. She decided that there needed to be some pictures of her too.
Grandma having fun. I love the view point from someone 3 feet tall.

Birthday boy's daddy

Crazy Uncle Rob

Crazy Uncle Danny

Sweet little Abby. She did not want her picture taken that day. Miah was so excited that she caught her sister on camera.

So hard to get a picture of Danny without a funny face.

Finally Miah took a break from the camera to play.

I like to play too.
Dad lighting the candles. Tate sang Happy Birthday to himself louder than anyone else!

Tate didn't even want to taste the cake his dad made, playing with trucks takes priority.
