Pillar Hike
We started at Barton road and took the hard trail this time and they were awesome. I’m still convinced the key to their motivation is to bring a snack to eat at our destination.
Overlooking Bartz Field. Look at those bruised shins! He must play hard!

Tooth Number Two
Again, just like last time, this tooth was hanging on by a thread. It was so loose, it would lean way over to the side and just looking at him quickly, the gap was so big that it looked like he’d already lost it. Well he woke up this morning not realizing it was gone and there it was, sitting nicely on his sheet next to his pillow.

Washington Surprise
Ellie was so excited to get a visit from her teacher and a nice message from her school! It kind of made up for the fact that Benson got to go to school today and she didn’t. Almost.

Mother’s Day
Bear Lake for Mother’s Day! First we had to pick up all the broken branches from the winter so Daddy could mow. I have some pretty good helpers.
Then some playing near the creek.
And lunch before heading to the lake.
It was a beautiful day at the lake!
Benson loved getting stuck in the “quick sand.”

ISU Hike
They’ll usually agree to a short hike if they can bring their water packs and a snack. I wonder how long the novelty of water packs will last? All I know is we had to stop for a snack break pretty quickly.
I thought the wood pile would make a good backdrop for photos. No other significance, really.
And I was right!

Sewing
Benson is working on his preschool pillow at home. He’s doing all the stitching himself and I’m trying to stay out of it until he tells me there’s a problem. By then, he’s usually 3 or 4 stitches or knots or loops gone bad, but we both do better if I don’t hover. So I come fix the problem and he’s back sewing again. Well this particular time he said there was a problem, he had somehow sewn his shirt to his bumble bee. We’ll never know exactly how that happened.

Boys and Their Good Ideas
What could go wrong? He’s very creative but of course it ended in tears. He had a great time while it lasted though!
